The future for sustainability reporting

The report « Transparent Economy » was published in 2010 by GRI (Global Reporting Initiative). It presents trends that will drive or constrain greater transparency and accountability.
The study included an online survey of the GRI community, focusing on seven major trends — subsequently boiled down into the TIGERS agenda (Traceability, Integrated Reporting, Government Leadership, Environmental Boundaries, Rating and Ranking, and Shadow Economies). Recommendations are made for business, financial institutions, governments and individuals.

Getting More Value out of Sustainability Reporting

International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, and the Global Reporting Initiative published in June 2010 a document entitled “Getting More Value out of Sustainability Reporting”. It is being released as a “road test” draft to solicit feedback from companies and stakeholders.
The publication is aimed at:
- Corporate leaders seeking to promote an innovative and strategic approach to sustainability at the corporate level.
- Senior executives and managers looking to establish an effective internal system for the sustainability reporting process
 - Corporate reporting teams that want to understand the links and alignment between the GRI and IFC frameworks, thereby structuring information more efficiently.
A final version of the Good Practice Note will be published in 2011.
