Food Processing
The GRI Food Processing Sector Supplement includes the GRI Guidelines and additional information explaining the issues and indicators that are specific to this area of activity. This document was developed for companies that process food (including the fish and beverage industries). A portion of this supplement applies to organizations that produce alcohol and cigarettes, distribute food or supply fertilizers and pesticides.










GRI conducted a study on CSR reporting in the food processing sector which has served as a basis for work on the Food Processing Sector Supplement. It provides an overview of reporting practices taken from 60 reports in 2006 and studies the trends using a sample of 20 companies. The analysis helps identify how GRI indicators are used to address issues specific to this area of activity.
